Psychometric Properties of the Portuguese Version of the Attitudes Towards Research (ATR) Scale: An Inquiry with Health Students
Attitudes of college students towards research have a significant impact on learning. However, there are not many standardized assessment instruments in this field, with the Attitudes Toward Research - ATR by Papanastasiou being particularly noteworthy. Therefore, the translation and back translation of the ATR to Portuguese was carried out with a sample of 515 health students. After ascertaing sample adequacy, calculations of validation, reduction and measurement were made, reaching the ATR version considered most consistent. Thus, the number of dimensions is reduced from five to three (Utility/Relevance, Anxiety/Difficulty, Positive Attitudes), but keeping the same number of items.
